My undergraduate work in Psychology was done at the University of Michigan-Dearborn.  I earned my master's degree in Family Studies and my doctorate in Educational Psychology at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, graduating with honors at both universities.  I taught at the University of New Mexico several years before going into private practice.  During a brief six-year period, I moved to Oregon and obtained an Oregon counseling license.  I am now back in Albuquerque, but I have transitioned from practicing counseling to focusing on my writing.   I keep both my New Mexico and Oregon licenses current and active.
